PORTFOLIO PREP
Grades 8th & older
BY INVITATION ONLY
The program is designed to support and help high school and college transfer students excel in developing their portfolios for college admissions. Students will be encouraged to portray and reflect their inner voices and passions creatively through their body of work. Portfolios developed by students from Shineh Art Studio have historically been well received by colleges/universities throughout the country. Furthermore Shineh Art Studio annually welcomes representatives/recruiters from notable art colleges for direct portfolio feedback opportunities and presentations at our studio!
Portfolio Prep level students are expected to know the basics of how to use BOTH dry and wet mediums, including charcoal, collage, watercolor, acrylic & oil paint, etc.
Activities include:
- Potential opportunities to compete at local, state, region at large and/or national art competitions.
- Lesson plans tailored to individual students.
- Invited to attend college presentations/events and provided with a chance to receive one-on-one reviews with each art school admission counselor/director.
Art supplies:
- Each Portfolio Prep student MUST bring his/her own art bin to every class. Please purchase the following art supplies.

Half-year registration required.
$690 (first & last month’s tuition) plus a one-time registration fee per new student is due at registration. $460 monthly installments are due on the dates below.

^ A 12th grade Portfolio Prep student is working on her RISD challenge. This young artist is accepted to RISD and PARSONS with scholarship.
^ "Lux En Tenebris" by Kern L. - 12th grade (Pen & Ink) - Received a National Silver Medal from the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing.
^ "Rib-Caged" by Sheri G. - 12th grade (Digital Painting) - Got accepted to Cornell, NYU, Upenn, UMCP & MICA with scholarship.
^ This captivating digital painting is from Evan C.'s "Isolation" series! The entire 12-piece collection is currently featured as a sample AP Art and Design on the College Board website. Evan was honored as the "top scholarship recipient" by the Maryland
