"My greatest pride and joy is that I have personally taught and know every student who has come through my studio. This unique relationship allows me to truly understand each child — their strengths, their struggles, and their potential."
— Shineh Kim Yoon, Founder & Director
Shineh Kim Yoon is a nationally recognized art educator, artist, and founder of Shineh Art Studio, LLC. She leads every class personally. Her hands-on, individualized approach means she has personally taught and knows every student who has come through her studio since its founding in 2003: their strengths, their challenges, their goals, and their potential. That relationship is at the heart of everything we do.
Shineh's love of art began in childhood in South Korea. Shortly after immigrating to the United States at age 15, she was recognized as Maryland's Emerging Young Artist by the Maryland Art Education Association (MAEA). She went on to attend Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), specializing in Illustration, where she received a scholarship as a finalist in the Maryland Distinguished Scholars Program. In 2003, she founded Shineh Art Studio with a single goal: to share the transformative power of art with the next generation.
More than two decades later, her students have earned recognition at national and global levels, been accepted to the most prestigious universities and art schools in the country, and — most importantly — have developed a deep, lasting relationship with making art. That is her greatest accomplishment.
